Yes I tried the spacer out!

I know what I'm talking about, because I'm familiar with bikes for 20 years and Savage is like moped but bigger! Very good and simple!

I have already bought some universal slash-cut pipe to my savage. It has loud but not enough deep sound. That's why I'm recently designing my own model slash-cut and going to make it in next few weeks.

But for the spacer. Taking the spacer away has same function than canging the needle position richer. So I noticed;

- No effects to the maximum power or torque
- More fuel consuption
- Too much carbon from exhaust (it means too rich)
- More backfiring

So if you want to give the bike more fuel, you must help it to get more air also, for example by modifieng the air filter or carburetor air flow. There is no reason to make fuel only richer!!!

Actually, because I didn't want to modifie air filter etc. I put the spacer back and even changed the position of the needle as low as possible (more lean).
Now there is;

- not so much carbon,
- the colour of the sparg plug is fine
- Bike runs better
- Fuel consuption is less
- Power is same
- Not so much backfiring

Of course always when changing carburetor settings you must reset the air screw which works only for iddle speed. If you want to check the right mixture for the driving speed you must run the engine with normal operation speed, stop suddenly and check the spark plug.

If you want to check the air -screw, then let it run iddle for a while and check the spark plulg.
